My Second Online Order in Cambodia
On the 7th of October, out of desperation, I placed my second online order here in Cambodia. This order was made through an affiliate of Amazon and promised delivery within 10-15 days. However, in true Cambodian style, this order took one month to arrive. My order arrived!! Yes, it took twice as long but i'm not mad. I'm just soooo happy it came. To be fair, Fado168 kept me updated on the delivery status so the wait wasn't too bad. Upon arrival, everything was as described and well packaged. Will I be placing a third order? I hope to God not, I will be stretching these products to ensure that they last me until I can travel outside of Cambodia. But all been said, I am happy that this company was available when I desperately needed a means to order online.
On another note, I mentioned in my last post the lessons of patience and tolerance I was gaining from the local post office. It has been an experience dealing with the local post office in doing a simple task of obtaining a post box. Well to be honest, setting up the box took 5 minutes, its obtaining the key for said box that's proving to be a challenge. Go ahead and read my previous post for the details. Anyhow, I had ordered a few items off Aliexpress and was hoping they had made it to my P.O. box, I had a weekday off work and so I went to the post office. I walked in gave my box number, I didn't even ask for the key this time. But surprise surprise, they recognized me or the box number because the guy went and spoke to another guy. I thought, here we go again, but he walked back to the counter with the keys. Was the elusive key holder finally at work? Is he the one, the guy who assisted me spoke to? Who knows, it is a mystery that will never be solved because I was so happy to finally have my keys in my hands that I just thanked him and quietly walked away. It took over four months, but I finally got my keys. I checked my box where another surprise awaited me. Yes, all three packages were waiting. According to tracking records, they were delivered over a month prior so yes I was really surprised that they were still there. Sihanoukville Post Office, thank you for taking care of my packages. Have I changed my tune about the Sihanoukville postal service? Definitely not! Miraculously I received my orders...this time, but this is definitely not an experience I want to repeat. All in all, I have learnt a lot more patience and tolerance from this experience so that's a plus. Living and working here has definitely been one lesson after another. I'm learning, I'm growing and I'm definitely figuring out whats important in life. Happy Travels!
